Chelsea have loaned out English-born Ghanaian midfielder Alex Matos to join Championship side Huddersfield Town for the remainder of the campaign.

Chelsea disclosed this in a statement via its website on Thursday evening.

Matos joined Chelsea from Norwich City last summer and quickly established himself in Pochettino’s first-team squad.

The 19-year-old, who is capable of playing in midfield or attack, made his Chelsea debut in their win over Fulham last October.

He also made a second appearance in the Carabao Cup win against Blackburn Rovers.

“He will now continue his development at Huddersfield, who sit 21st in the Championship,” Chelsea’s statement read in part.

Matos has represented England at youth level but also qualifies for Ghana through his parents.
