Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has asked fans of the club to be patient with the current development at the club.
The London-based side has suffered ups and downs since Roman Abramovich moved on as the owner of the club with BlueCo led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjörg Wyss acquiring the club.
While their tenure has not been great and has suffered inconsistencies, Essien is optimistic it will all come together for good at some point.
“I still follow them [Chelsea] and always watch the games whenever I can. I think it will take time and a lot of patience, but I’m sure they will get there,” said Essien in an exclusive interview with Joy Sports.
Essien played for Chelsea between 2005 and 2013. He managed 256 appearances and scored 25 goals with 20 assists also to his name in that period.
The Blues currently sit eighth on the Premier League table after four rounds of games picking up seven points from an available 12.
