The Ghana Football Association Communication Director, Henry Asante Twum says the FA haven’t appointed Irish manager as new Black Stars coach.
According to Henry Asante Twum, the Executive Council of the GFA haven’t taken any decision on making the former Brighton and Hove Albion manager the new Ghana coach.
“The Executive Council of the GFA is yet to approve Chris Hughton as the new coach of the Black Stars after the Serbian Manager, Milovan Rajevac, was sacked.”
It was widely reported in the Ghanaian media that Chris Hughton was set to be announced as the new Black Stars coach following the sacking of Serbian tactician Milovan Rajevac after a disastrous AFCON campaign.
Henry Asante Twum, Director of Comms at the FA: “the leadership of the FA is still searching for a competent manager to occupy the position as the Black Stars coach”, he told Starr Fm.
Ghana takes on neighbors Nigeria next month for a place in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and are without a technical team with just one month away.
