Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton has called up a squad of twenty-three players for this month’s international friendly matches against Mexico and the United States of America.
Brighton and Hove Albion defender Tariq Lamptey has returned to the squad following his impressive start to the season in England. Lamptey faced challenges last year and was sidelined for nearly six months due to injuries.
Deputy captain Thomas Teye Partey, who missed the qualifier against the Central African Republic due to injury, is also included in the squad.
Ghana is set to face Mexico at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on Saturday, October 14, followed by a match against the United States of America on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Coach Chris Hughton is expected to use these two friendlies as part of the preparation for the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers in November and the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
