The communication director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum says newly appointed Black Stars technical adviser never applied for Black Stars coaching job.
The FA spokesman has revealed why the former Brighton and Hove Albion manager was not appointed head coach for the Black Stars.
Chris Hughton didn’t apply for the Black Stars Head Coaching job,” he told Sikka FM. “The Ghana Football Association made it clear to Chris Hughton the kind of role he will play in the Black Stars team,” he added.
On the other hand, Otto Addo has been named the new coach of the Black Stars for the clash against the Super Eagles of Nigeria next month.
Henry Asante Twum explained the reason for his absence for the Africa Cup of Nations, despite being the assistant coach of the team.
“Dortmund was not ready to release Otto Addo for the Afcon since it was not time for international break,” he said.
