Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton has reacted to concerns raised about the poor nature of pitches in Ghana.
The nature of the pitches in the country dominated the media space after Ghana’s international friendly game against Liberia at the Accra Sports Stadium.
To many patrons who watched the game both at the stadium and on TV, the facility is not suitable to host Black Stars games.
Asked About the facility and it’s current state, Chris Hughton said he doesn’t determine the venue for Black Stars games.
“I would have to say first and foremost that the decision to where the games are played are of course decisions by the Football Association.”
“What we can do is speak about today, the crowd were excellent today and I think they grew with us as the game got better and as the performance got better, the crowd got louder and I think probably the fact we hadn’t played here for a while probably had something to do with it and its good to be back here but as regards (to) where the games are played, that’s not my decision,” he said at his post match conference.
The Black Stars defeated Liberia 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
