According to Bibiani Goldstars coach Michael Osei, the fact that Black Stars coach Chris Hughton has visited local league centres many times shows that he has greater intentions for the local players.
The Premier League manager took over as Black Stars coach in February, with assistants George Boateng and Didi Dramani.
Hughton is off to a good start as national team coach, having won one and drawn one of his first two games.
The former Brighton manager led the Black Stars to a 2023 AFCON qualification victory against Angola in Kumasi before sharing the spoils in the return fixture in Luanda.
While applauding Hughton for observing the Ghana Premier League, the assistant coach of the Black Meteors has asked Ghanaians to give Hughton the support he needs to succeed.
“You can see he (Chris Hughton) is a coach who will get time for our league. He won’t relax and wait for the 11th hour to come and coach the team and leave. He has started well, watching Ghana Premier League games and I think it will motivate the young ones playing in the local scene. Definitely, you can see he has something for the local guys and I think the players too will do their best” he told Koforidua-based Bryt FM in an interview.
“He is a fair person; I think he will include every player provided you are on form to play. So, I think Hughton watching the league will help. We should give him the necessary support and wish him the best of luck to succeed”
