Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu has heaped praises on recent Hatayspor coach Volkan Demirel for the team’s improvement ahead of the season return.
Atsu and his teammates underwent a difficult camp process but it has proven beneficial to them as the former Chelsea man has noted improvements in the way the team plays.
“I can say that the performance of the team has increased especially after Volkan coach came. Physically, he touched us really well. The teacher also develops, he develops us as well. In this sense, it is really important for us. After the coach came, we were able to see this in the team. The team began to play more compactly. He started playing together. I think this is due to the self-confidence given by the teacher. We are currently going through a good process,” he said as quoted by Turkish website kulliyehaber.
His club is currently 14th in the Turkish top flight.
