In a recent interview with Graphic Sports, CK Akonnor, renowned for his coaching stints with Dreams FC and Ashgold, has offered valuable advice to Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, Ghana’s renowned football clubs.
Akonnor stressed the necessity for comprehensive evaluations before signing players, highlighting that success in lower-tier leagues doesn’t always translate to success at higher levels.
Having coached both clubs previously, Akonnor emphasized the significance of thorough assessments and psychological readiness when bringing in new talent.
“When you are recruiting players, you need to do thorough checks because just because a player is performing well in a lower-tier league doesn’t mean they will automatically excel when they join Hearts of Oak or Asante Kotoko,” he told Graphic Sports.
