As reported by Ghanasportspage.com, Coach James Kwesi Appiah is said to be close to being appointed as the next coach of Asante Kotoko.
Sources indicate that there is a preliminary agreement between the former Black Stars coach and the club. It is also stated that Kwesi Appiah has offered to coach the team for free, provided CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah agrees to his conditions.
However, the 62-year-old trainer has yet to commit to the role until the official agreement is announced. With his impressive coaching record, Kwesi Appiah would bring a wealth of experience to Asante Kotoko. He has been without a club since leaving Kenpong Soccer Academy earlier this year.
During his playing days, he won ten trophies with the Porcupine Warriors, including the African Cup of Champions Clubs in 1983.
He also served as an assistant coach for the team and was later promoted to head coach from 1995 to 1996.
