Micheal Osei, the Head Coach of Bibiani Gold Stars, has agreed to extend his contract with the Ghana Premier League club until 2025, following the expiration of his previous contract.
The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko manager engaged in fruitful negotiations with the Bibiani-based club and eventually signed a two-year contract to continue leading the team.
The contractual agreement was reached within the week after Osei returned from his off-season holidays in Germany. With this extension, he is set to take charge of the side in the upcoming 2023/24 Ghana football campaign, which is expected to kick off in September. This will mark his third consecutive season with the club since joining them.
Osei initially joined Bibiani Gold Stars from lower-tier side Star Madrid FC before the start of the 2021/22 Ghana football season, committing to a three-year deal.
He stepped in to replace promotion expert Kobina Amissah, who had left the role months after helping the team secure promotion for the first time in the club’s history.
Under Coach Michael Osei’s guidance during his first season at Bibiani Gold Stars, the team achieved a respectable 10th-place finish in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League campaign.
In his second season, during the 2022/23 season, he continued to excel, improving on his previous performance and ensuring that the side finished as a commendable fifth-place team, just behind Asante Kotoko SC.
Bibiani Gold Stars will commence their 2023/24 betPawa Ghana Premier League campaign with an away fixture against Berekum Chelsea. With Osei’s contract extension, the team looks forward to building on their recent successes and making a strong impact in the upcoming season.
