Black Stars suffered a 1-0 defeat against Comoros as Myziane Maolida’s wonderful solo goal sent Comoros to the top of Group I of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Sportsworldghana reveals the ratings of the Blck Stars players.

4-2-3-1

Richard Ofori (Gk):  the keeper made fine saves even though he conceded a goal which you can’t fault him 5.5

Denis Odoi:  at right back,  Odoi was solid and showed determination but could not help the team keep a clean sheet as he and the centre-backs could be blamed. 4.5

Kasim Adams: partnered with Nico at the heart of our defence, Adams was solid but could’ve done pretty well with the goal Ghana conceded. 4.5

Nicholas Opoku: he had a normal game but didn’t defend well just like Kasim and Odoi against Maolida who scored the lone goal. 4.5

Gideon Mensah: had a decent game as most of his crosses were accurate. He had plenty of the balls and was composed on the left-hand side of Ghana. 5.5

Iddris Baba: he spent 88 minutes as he shielded the defence well. He was better today than Thursday. 5.

Abdul Salis Samed: he has struggled in his partnership with Baba in the double pivot role as he was substituted in the 65th minute. 5

Antoine Semenyo:  had Ghana’s best chance earlier in the game but couldn’t find the back of the net. Much was not seen from him in the game. 4.5

Andre Ayew: had a horrible 45 minutes to forget. 3.5

Jordan Ayew: Ghana’s best attacker on the day as his link-up play and set pieces were excellent. 5

Inaki Williams: he was very anonymous, especially in the first half. 4.5

Substitute:

Kudus (46th minute): showed his usual brilliance but was not enough to guarantee us a goal 4.5

Nuamah (65th minute): dangerous at times with the ball. 4.5

Ashimeru (65th minute): had 3 shots wide of the post as he did impress like Thursday 4.5

Fatawu Ishahaku (81st minute): had little time to make an impact. No rating

Jonathan Sowah (88th minute):  he had little time to prove his worth. No rating

Coach

Chris Houghton’s selection and his tactics were questionable as he still started the two defensive midfielders. The decision to start Dede Ayew was unbelievable and shocking. 3
