Ghanaian forward Ezekiel Alladoh bounced back strongly from a difficult MLS debut by delivering an impressive performance for Philadelphia Union in their emphatic 7-0 victory over Defence Force in the Concacaf Champions Cup.
The 20-year-old attacker, who was sent off during his MLS opener against DC United, responded in style by providing two assists to help the American side cruise to a dominant win.
Alladoh first set up Stas Korzeniowski for Union’s fourth goal before later assisting teenage sensation Cavan Sullivan to cap an outstanding individual display.
The former Accra Lions striker has now recorded three goal contributions in the competition, having also scored in the first-leg encounter played in Trinidad and Tobago.
Philadelphia Union advanced comfortably to the second round of the tournament with an overwhelming 12-0 aggregate triumph.
The hosts took early control of the match, with Geiner Martinez opening the scoring in the seventh minute. Jovan Lukic doubled the lead from the penalty spot just three minutes later, before Korzeniowski grabbed his first goal in the 12th minute.
Korzeniowski completed his brace after the break, finishing from Alladoh’s assist, while Ben Bender added another to put the contest beyond the visitors. Cavan Sullivan then sealed the rout with a late brace to complete a commanding night for Union.
