It is a bit surprising to see Ameenu Shardow retaining his role as the Team Manager of the Black Stars after the Ghana Football Association dissolved everything concerning the Black Stars in the wake of the horrible 2023 AFCON campaign in Ivory Coast.
Henry Twum Asante has officially confirmed Shardow retaining his role as the Team Manager in an interview on Asempa FM.
“There have been a lot of changes with the team that was sent to Ivory Coast for the AFCON. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) believes that was needed as part of the restructuring process.
“From the team doctors to the physios and the technical team, there have been a lot of changes.
“However, with regards to the position of the Team Manager, Ameenu Shardow has been retained and he is currently with the team in Morocco for the upcoming games,” confirmed Henry Asante Twum.
Ameenu Shardow was appointed as the Team Manager of Black Stars when Chris Houghton was confirmed to replace Otto Addo in early 2023.
There were earlier rumours that 2nd Assistant Coach John Paintsil would double as the Team Manager but the confirmation has ended those rumours.
Many changes have been made in the Black Stars with the biggest one being the return of Otto Addo.
Ghana is preparing to face Nigeria and Uganda in friendly games in Marrakech, Morocco.
