Hearts of Oak has successfully completed the signing of Ivorian striker Kassim Cissé on a two-year contract after he passed a medical examination.
Cissé, a 20-year-old talent who previously played in the Ivorian Division One league, arrived in Ghana on September 7, 2023, to seal a deal with the Phobians in preparation for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season. The deal has now been concluded with the Phobians as the Ivorian striker pens a two-year deal with an option for another three years.
Cissé was the top scorer in the Ivorian Ligue 2 during the 2022/23 season with 16 goals while playing for Lanfiara Sport.
This signing marks a significant move for Hearts of Oak as they seek to strengthen their squad for the upcoming 2023/24 league season, taking advantage of the closing transfer window.
Cissé is expected to bolster the team’s offensive capabilities, a key aspect as the Phobians aim to rebuild following the departure of key players.
The 2020/21 Ghana Premier League champions are set to kick off the season with an away match against Real Tamale United in Tamale, hoping to improve upon their 12th-place finish in the previous season, which spanned 34 games.
