Ralf Rangnick has named a strong squad for the Austria national football team ahead of their international friendly against Ghana later this month.

The match is scheduled for March 27 at the iconic Ernst-Happel-Stadion in Vienna as both nations continue preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in June.

Leading the squad is David Alaba, the versatile defender from Real Madrid, who remains one of Austria’s most influential players and a key figure in Rangnick’s setup.

The experienced star headlines a roster that blends established internationals with emerging talents.

Also included in the squad are notable names such as Marcel Sabitzer, Marko Arnautovic, Konrad Laimer, Christoph Baumgartner, and Stefan Posch.

The group reflects Rangnick’s intention to test a competitive side against the Black Stars in what promises to be an exciting encounter.

The friendly will give Austria the opportunity to assess their squad depth and tactical structure against a physically strong Ghana side.

For the Black Stars, the fixture forms part of a broader preparation schedule as they build momentum ahead of the World Cup in the North America.

After facing Austria, Ghana will remain in Europe for another high-profile friendly against Germany national football team.

That match is set to take place three days later in Stuttgart, providing another stern test for Otto Addo’s side.

The two matches are expected to play an important role in Ghana’s preparations as they fine-tune their squad and tactical approach ahead of the global tournament.

Facing two strong European opponents in quick succession offers valuable competitive experience for the four-time African champions.

With several top-level players expected to feature, the upcoming international window promises to be an important period for both Austria and Ghana as they continue their respective football projects.
