Belgian international and Real Madrid keeper, Thibaut Courtois, has reflected on his performance this season and last. He believes that he has been performing “at a very high level” and now this is being “accompanied with important victories”.
“I’m happy to be able to help the team win with my saves. It’s my job and I feel good. I’m at a very high level. I was last year as well. Now it’s accompanied with important victories. We’re through in the Champions League and you can tell we’re winners”, he said.
The goalkeeper received the ‘Jugador Cinco Estrellas Mahou’ award for February this Saturday. He played in six matches last month, and kept a clean sheet in four of them.
Courtois reflected on the historic victory over PSG on Wednesday: “The atmosphere was incredible, especially after 1-1. Everyone believed we’d turn it around. It was vital that the crowd were behind us for the whole match. We hope to repay them with more trophies at the end of the season” he assured.
