Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner praised Jeffrey Schlupp and his teammates for their impressive performance in a 3-1 victory over West Ham United in a preseason friendly early Sunday morning.
Schlupp delivered a stunning goal as the Eagles secured the Stateside Cup. The match began with Tyrick Mitchell scoring just a minute after kickoff, giving Crystal Palace an early lead.
West Ham quickly equalized when Michail Antonio scored in the 21st minute, leveling the score at 1-1 as the teams went into halftime.
In the second half, Schlupp restored Crystal Palace’s lead with a goal six minutes after the hour mark, his third consecutive preseason goal, with Jordan Ayew providing the assist. Schlupp then assisted Odsonne Edouard, who extended the lead to 3-1 just two minutes later.
Following the match, Glasner commented, “It’s nice to win a trophy and winning is always better than losing. I’m really pleased with the performance we showed today; it was a very, very good game. We scored nice goals and created several more chances, so overall it was a very good game and a very good week for us.”
