Dan Quaye furiously reacts to imminent departure of ‘experienced’ Gladson Awako from Hearts of Oak

Former Ghanaian international, Dan Quaye, has expressed his disappointment with Accra Hearts of Oak’s decision to part ways with Gladson Awako.

Several reports on Thursday morning suggested that the experienced midfielder has left the Phobians on mutual consent.

Reacting to the news, the veteran defender questioned his former club’s decision to sack the former U-20 World Cup winner.

“What has Awako done? He is a senior player in the team. He has the right to speak up if things are not going well. The problem at Hearts of Oak is the current management. They won’t allow someone to show them the way. Sacking experienced players from the team is not the right decision. The inexperience at Hearts of Oak is too much,” Dan Quaye stated in an interview with Mothers FM as quoted by Ghanasportspage.

Awako had a very difficult campaign in the past season, having been affected by a lot of injuries. He made only 12 appearances in the Ghana Premier League for Hearts.

The Phobians finished in the 12th position after the season with 46 points from 34 matches, scoring 32 goals and conceding 37 times in the process.
