Goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim, who has been with Asante Kotoko since 2016, recently unveiled his dream XI lineup consisting of his favorite teammates during his tenure at the club. Despite being the team’s captain, Danlad excluded himself from the lineup, focusing solely on highlighting his standout colleagues.
In a feature titled “The Ultimate Pick” by the club’s media, Danlad faced the challenge of selecting the best XI players he has played with over his eight-year journey with Asante Kotoko.
In goal, Danlad chose Felix Annan for his leadership qualities and exceptional goalkeeping skills, acknowledging him as the number one choice.
Moving to defense, former captain Amos Frimpong secured the right-back position, while Eric Donkor was selected as the left-back. In the heart of defense, Danlad opted for Wahab Adams and former skipper Ismail Abdul Ganiyu to provide solidity and experience.
Transitioning to midfield, Danlad named Jackson Owusu as the defensive midfielder, supported by current deputy captain Richmond Lamptey. On the wings, he included Maxwell Baakoh and Emmanuel Gyamfi to provide width and creativity.
In attack, Danlad went for a potent duo, selecting former Atletico Madrid forward Saddick Adams and Cameroonian striker Franck Etouga Mbella to lead the frontline with their goal-scoring prowess.
Danlad’s ultimate Asante Kotoko XI reflects a blend of leadership, skill, and experience, showcasing the depth of talent within the club during his tenure.
