David Ocloo, the Deputy coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, expressed his contentment with the team’s performance after their hard-earned victory over a resilient Accra Lions side.
Linda Mtange scored her first goal in the BetPawa Premier League, propelling Hearts of Oak to a 1-0 triumph over their city rivals at the Accra Sports Stadium. The Phobians’ starting lineup featured Caleb Amankwah, Dennis Korsah, Albert Eonde, and Samuel Inkoom, with Eric Ofori Antwi in goal, taking over from Richmond Ayi.
After losing 3-0 to Karela United last weekend, the Rainbow team entered the game eager to get back to winning ways. However, they had difficulty finding the back of the net in the first half, and it took them 64 minutes to score through Linda Mtange.
Despite Accra Lions’ improvement and attempts to equalize, Hearts always appeared to be in control, with Eric Esso coming close to a second goal with a shot on target.
Coach David Ocloo expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, saying, “I told you that we will do our best to get the positive result and we got it. Yes, I am very satisfied. You could see they felt gallantly. I am so proud of them and will encourage them to keep it up and continue in this way,” to StarTimes after the game.
The victory sees Hearts move up to third place in the league, only three points behind the leaders Aduana, who drew 1-1 with Berekum Chelsea. Meanwhile, Accra Lions have dropped to third place.
