Dutch-Ghanaian forward Deabeas Owusu-Sekyere played a key role in Zhejiang Professional’s 2-0 victory against Wuhan Three Towns in their Round 28 Chinese Super League clash.
Held at the Wuhan Sports Center Stadium, Zhejiang made the most of their limited chances, with Owusu-Sekyere contributing two vital assists. In the 20th minute, he delivered a perfect cross to Leonardo, who slotted home to give Zhejiang the lead. Despite Wuhan controlling 58% of the possession and launching 20 shots, they struggled to break down Zhejiang’s defense.
As the match neared its conclusion, Owusu-Sekyere once again stepped up in stoppage time, setting up Yao Junsheng for a left-footed finish in the 90+3rd minute, sealing the win for Zhejiang.
Owusu-Sekyere’s standout performance brought his season tally to nine goals and four assists in 28 league appearances. Zhejiang Professional now look ahead to their AFC Champions League match against Port FC on October 24th.
