Denis Odoi believes that if the Black Stars play as a team on November 24, they can defeat Portugal.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup’s opening match pits Otto Addo’s team against the 2016 European Champions, a match that both teams admit could be crucial to their chances of advancing from the group.
Portugal is ranked in the top 10 of the FIFA rankings, while Ghana enters the game as the lowest-ranked team.
However, Odoi thinks the Black Stars may learn from the Arabians by playing as a unit after seeing Saudi Arabia defeat Argentina earlier on Tuesday in Group C.
“Obviously we’ve seen what Saudi Arabia did [against Argentina]. It proves that you still have to play every game. It’s not because you’re a small country playing against a bigger country,” he said.
“From my experience, if we play as a team and are cohesive as a group, we can do anything.”
