Derrick Köhn was the standout performer as Werder Bremen cruised to a 4-1 victory over Union Berlin in Bundesliga Round 15 at the Weserstadion.
The German-Ghanaian defender played a pivotal role, delivering two crucial assists that proved decisive in the game.
Bremen started strong, taking the lead in the 13th minute through Marco Grüll’s header. Just four minutes later, Köhn showcased his vision with a perfectly timed pass that allowed Grüll to score again, doubling the advantage.
Although Union Berlin managed to pull one back in the 23rd minute through András Schäfer, Köhn made sure Bremen stayed in control. His second assist came just before halftime when he delivered a pinpoint cross to Mitchell Weiser, who finished calmly to make it 3-1.
Bremen wrapped up the match in the 87th minute with Jens Stage converting Marvin Ducksch’s pass, sealing a dominant performance.
Köhn’s impressive contributions have brought his season tally to two goals and two assists, underlining his importance to the team. As Bremen prepares to face RB Leipzig on January 12th, Köhn will look to continue his fine form.
