Hearts of Oak head coach, Mas Ud Didi Dramani, has vowed to shut down Basake Holy Stars’ dangerous attacking threat when the two sides meet at the Legon Sports Stadium this Sunday, March 8.
Dramani acknowledged that Holy Stars are a formidable side, featuring direct play and talented wingers such as Prince Tweneboah and Gideon Quayson.
He stressed that Hearts must neutralize their opponents’ strengths while capitalizing on their own. “All we need to do is shut them off, anticipate their moves, and continue to play to our strengths. We must respond positively in that game,” he explained.
Hearts of Oak are coming off a 2-1 defeat to reigning champions GoldStars at Duns Park last weekend. Currently third in the Ghana Premier League table with 40 points from 24 matches, the Phobians are six points behind leaders Medeama SC and five behind second-placed GoldStars. A victory against Holy Stars is crucial to keep their title hopes alive.
Elsewhere in the league, Medeama SC will host struggling Hohoe United, while other Week 25 fixtures include Karela United vs Kotoko, Young Apostles vs GoldStars, and Aduana Stars vs Eleven Wonders.
Dramani’s team is confident that home advantage at the Legon Sports Stadium can spark a strong response after their recent setback.
The coach reminded supporters that Sunday’s game is more than just another match—it is an opportunity to show resilience and determination.
