Former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), George Afriyie, has successfully obtained a court injunction against the upcoming GFA elections.
Mr. Afriyie was disqualified by the GFA elections committee, preventing him from participating in the elections scheduled for October 5, 2023, in Tamale.
As an experienced football administrator who was vying for the GFA Presidential position, Mr. Afriyie had his appeal rejected a few days ago.
Now, he has secured a court injunction that puts the highly-discussed GFA elections on hold until the final resolution of his case.
George Afriyie, the bankroller of Planners FC, was seeking to contest the incumbent Kurt Okraku for the GFA presidential seat, four years after losing it.
