The penultimate round of the 2022/23 Access Division One League delivered some surprising and intriguing outcomes.
In Zone One, the regular season concluded with Eleven Wonders set to face Bofoakwa Tano in a playoff match to determine which team qualifies for the Premier League. The playoff is scheduled for Tuesday, May 30 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Moving to Zone Two, Soccer Intellectuals secured a 2-0 victory against Nations FC with goals from Hamidu Salifu and Anthony Owusu. Elmina Sharks kept their hopes of survival alive with a 3-1 win over New Edubiase. Ebusua Dwarfs triumphed 3-0 away against Swedru All Blacks. Basake Holy Stars secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Asekem courtesy of Emmanuel Agyei’s goal.
At the Gomoa Fetteh Park, WAFA emerged victorious with a 3-1 win against Sefwi All Stars. Asokwa Deportivo engaged in a thrilling encounter, defeating Skyy FC by a 4-2 margin. Kenpong Academy boosted their chances of avoiding relegation with a 2-0 triumph over Pacific Heroes, while Nzema Kotoko secured a 1-0 win against Future Stars.
In Zone Three, Vision FC claimed a 2-0 home victory against league leaders Heart of Lions, courtesy of goals from Emmanuel Essel and Samuel Yorke Painstil in the first half. Susubiribi registered a convincing 3-0 win over Volta Rangers at the Akyem Tafo Rovers Park. Liberty Professionals were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Attram De Visser. Koforidua Semper Fi secured a 1-0 home win against Akosombo Krystal Palace.
Tema Youth salvaged a 2-2 draw against A5 Rences with an 85th-minute goal from Ibrahim Yusif. Golden Kicks staged a remarkable comeback, leveling the score 3-3 after being down 3-1 against Mighty Jets. Akatsi All Stars and Na God played out a 2-2 draw. On Monday, Nania FC will host Uncle T United at the Tema Sports Stadium.
