Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the esteemed Life Patron of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, has offered a clear directive to the club’s head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, emphasizing the paramount importance of building the club’s foundation before pursuing accolades.
In a sagacious counsel, he urged the coach to refrain from an undue haste for titles or trophies, given the current state of the club.
“Don’t be anxious to win a cup with the Club. Instead, focus on building it. If the players are able to win a trophy, I am fine with it but don’t rush for a cup. I will be glad if you win an African Cup but my focus is on the development of the Club.”
This, he said during a meeting with the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Club, players and the technical team at the Manhyia Palace on Monday, August 7, 2023.
Furthermore, Otumfuo asserted that the coach’s tenure would extend as long as necessary, contingent upon his fulfillment of the mandate to foster the club’s advancement.
He assured the coach of the necessary latitude to carry out his work effectively and imparted the same charge to the IMC.
