Hearts of Oak midfielder Glid Otanga is urging fans to continue supporting the team despite their disappointing performances in the Ghana Premier League.
The Phobians suffered another setback in their penultimate game of the season, losing to Real Tamale United at home. It was a frustrating 2-1 defeat at the Accra Sports Stadium, marking their fifth loss in the last six games of the league.
Currently positioned 11th with 45 points, the defending champions are facing a crucial final match against Berekum Chelsea to secure their place in the league for the next season.
Otanga, who was named the man of the match, acknowledged that the fans have the right to express their dissatisfaction, but he called on them to continue supporting the team in order to facilitate a bounce back.
“We understand that it’s not easy for us at the moment. We have no excuses because this is our job, and this is football,” Otanga expressed.
“I want to tell our supporters not to give up on us. We need your support. We will give our best in the upcoming match against Berekum Chelsea,” he added.
With the crucial encounter ahead, Hearts of Oak will rely on the unwavering support of their fans as they aim to secure a victory and ensure their place in the league for the next season.
