Dreams Football Club head coach Karim Zito is in ecstacy after his first victory over Accra Hearts of Oak SC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Dawu-based club became the first team to beat the Phobians in the competition for the first time in more than two years.
“Words cannot describe today’s feeling , I said before the game that we have never won here before but we will break that jinx and we did it against such a team like Hearts of oak. I am really proud of my boys for making history,” said Zito after the game.
Just nine minutes into the game, Agyenim Boateng scored the opening goal of the match to put the away team in the lead with a good finish.
Hearts of Oak came stronger in the second half of the match pushing for the equalizer but Dreams remained resolute.
Hearts of Oak missed a late penalty which could have leveled the game after two attempts with Dreams goalkeeper making two great saves.
