Finally, the wait for the exact day of the draw is over as CAF has confirmed 12th March as the date.
The group stage of the CAF Champions League was done and dusted on Saturday evening as the 8 teams that had booked their place were confirmed.
Egypt’s Al Ahly and Tunisia’s Esperance are the only two teams from North Africa. Petro Luanda and Mamelpdi Aundowns are from the Southern part of Africa while Asec Mimosas is the sole rep from West Africa. From the East, Tanzania’s giants Simba and Yanga qualified from their respective groups.
In the Confederation Cup, the group stage ended on Sunday. Dreams FC, Rivers United and Stade Malien are from West Africa while Zamalek, Berkane, USM Algier, Modern Future FC and Abu Salim are from North Africa.
The teams will wait anxiously for their next opponents as the draw will be conducted next week on Tuesday.
