English Championship Watford FC have announced the signing of Dutch striker Myron Boadu.
The 25-year-old frontman has signed a permanent deal at The Vic and joins on a free transfer.
“I’m delighted to be here,” Boadu said to watfordfc.com.
“Everybody knows the club from their days in the Premier League.
“I’m happy to be playing football in England for the first time. This is the heaven of football!
“It was an easy decision to join Watford.”
Career
- Came through the academy at AZ Alkmaar before scoring 38 goals in 88 appearances for the Dutch club
- Became AZ’s youngest Eredivisie scorer at the age of 17 in 2018
- Scored 14 league goals, and a further six in the UEFA Europa League, during a fruitful 2019/20 season
- Earned a move to AS Monaco in 2021 and went on to play nearly 70 times for the Ligue 1 side
- Loan spell back in the Netherlands with FC Twente in the second half of the 2023/24 campaign
- Scored nine goals in 19 Bundesliga appearances for VfL Bochum during another loan in 2024/25
- Spent last season with PSV Eindhoven, playing 17 times as they won the Dutch title

Boadu won his only senior cap for the Netherlands in November 2019, but he marked it by finding the net.
He scored the last goal in a 5-0 victory over Estonia in a Euro 2020 qualifying fixture.
