Patrick Joosten, a Dutch player of Ghanaian descent, has officially been released by Willem II after the club decided not to renew his contract.
The 29-year-old winger will become a free agent at the end of June when his current deal expires. Joosten, a former Netherlands U21 international, now faces a new chapter in his career as he explores options for the upcoming season.
Joosten has played for several Dutch clubs over the years, including FC Utrecht, VVV-Venlo, Groningen, and Cambuur, before joining Willem II. His versatility and experience in the Eredivisie and Eerste Divisie could attract interest from both Dutch and international sides.
With his roots linking him to Ghana, Joosten may also be on the radar of Ghanaian football followers, especially if he considers switching national allegiance or exploring opportunities in Africa.
