Former Asante Kotoko forward, Mark Adu Amofah, maintains a positive outlook regarding his former club’s prospects in the unfolding 2023/2024 season, despite their sluggish start.
The Porcupine Warriors have encountered a challenging beginning to the 2023/24 betPawa Premier League, securing only a single point from two games. They played to a goalless draw against Heart of Lions and suffered a 2-1 defeat to Bibiani Gold Stars on match day two.
Adu Amofah believes that the team, with its new composition, will require some time to establish their synergy and become a formidable force.
Speaking to GhanaWeb from his residence in the United States, Adu Amofah stated, “The team has a new crop of players who will need some time to play with a rhythm. It does happen, this is football and it won’t always be in your favour, you lose, win and draw some. Kotoko have not been impressive from their first two games but I believe they will regain their form in no time.”
“The players know what is at stake and what the fans expect from them. Early days yet but it won’t remain like this, there will be a massive improvement from the team as the season continues”, he added.
Adu Amofah became a beloved figure among fans in Kumasi when he joined Asante Kotoko from Liberty Professionals in 2006, amassing 21 goals across all competitions and playing a crucial role in the CAF Champions League.
In addition to his football career, Mark Adu Amofah also founded AA Sports International and Unique Sports Talent Worldwide. He holds a Certificate in grassroots coaching in the United States.
