Dr. Mohamed Abou Elela, team physician of the Egypt national football team, has confirmed that defender Mohamed Hamdy has suffered a serious knee injury.
According to an official medical statement, scans carried out on the player revealed an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear. The injury is a major setback for Hamdy and is expected to keep him out of action for a long period.
The news comes as a big blow to both the player and the national team, as Hamdy has been an important part of Egypt’s setup. He is expected to undergo further medical assessment to determine the next steps, including possible surgery and a rehabilitation plan.
The entire football community has since rallied behind Mohamed Hamdy, wishing him strength and a speedy recovery as he begins his road back to full fitness.
