Ghanaian midfielder Elijah Addai has officially joined Latvian club BFC Daugavpils from Odupong Heroes Soccer Academy.
The Latvia-based side confirmed the signing of the promising Ghanaian midfielder as part of efforts to strengthen their squad ahead of upcoming competitions.
Elijah Addai arrives in Europe after developing his football career at Odupong Heroes Soccer Academy, a Ghanaian football academy owned by Ghana international forward Bernard Tekpetey, who currently plays for PFC Ludogorets Razgrad in Bulgaria.
The move marks an important milestone in the young midfielder’s career as he transitions from academy football in Ghana to professional football in Europe. His development at the academy earned him recognition for his technical ability, composure in midfield, and strong work rate.
Officials of BFC Daugavpils believe Addai has the potential to grow into an important player for the club and contribute positively to the team’s midfield strength.
For Odupong Heroes Soccer Academy, the transfer represents another successful step in their mission to develop talented young footballers and provide them with opportunities to pursue professional careers abroad.
Bernard Tekpetey’s academy has gradually built a reputation for nurturing promising players, and Elijah Addai’s move to Latvia is expected to further highlight the academy’s growing impact in youth football development.
The Ghanaian midfielder will now look forward to adapting to the European style of play as he begins a new chapter with BFC Daugavpils, hoping to make a strong impression in Latvian football while continuing his development on the international stage.
