Ghanaian midfielder Elisha Owusu is feeling confident as the Black Stars prepare for their crucial doubleheader against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. These two Group F matches, scheduled for this month, are critical for Ghana’s hopes of advancing to the tournament.
During the Black Stars’ first training session on Monday, Owusu spoke to the press, emphasizing the importance of the upcoming games. He reassured fans that the team is focused and determined to secure victories in both matches.
“We know the game against Sudan is very important for us,” Owusu stated. “We didn’t perform well against the other teams. It’s going to be a tough game, but we are going to stay united and give our best to win these two games.”
Owusu also expressed appreciation for the continued support from fans, highlighting how it motivates the team to succeed. “We feel blessed to be here in Accra. I know the whole country is behind us, and we will give our maximum effort to put in a good performance for everyone,” he added.
Ghana is set to face Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 10, with kickoff scheduled for 4 p.m. The Black Stars are eager to bounce back from recent challenges and take a decisive step toward securing their place in the 2025 AFCON tournament.
