Stephen Mukwala is in his 2nd season with Asante Kotoko. The 24-year-old Ugandan speedster has been a constant menace to GPL defenders since joining Asante Kotoko from URA SC in 2022 for an undisclosed fee.
His contract is set to expire at the end of the season as Asante Kotoko has given Mukwala numerous offers but all to no avail.
When quizzed about Mukwala’s contract issues on Kessben FM in Kumasi, IMC member Emmanuel Dasoberi confirmed that Mukwala who was signed by former CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah, wants to leave.
“Mukwala Steven Dese doesn’t want to renew his contract. There’ll be a perfect replacement for Mukwala when the season ends,” said Emmanuel Dasoberi.
He assured Fabolous fans that there would be a perfect replacement for the Ugandan forward.
On star midfielder Richmond Lamptey who has been attracting interest from Libya, Emmanuel Dasoberi disclosed that they’re still negotiating with Lamptey and his entourage.
“Negotiation still ongoing between Kotoko and Lamptey’s camp,” added Dasoberi.
Steve Mukwala and Richmond Lamptey are integral members of Dr Prosper Ogum’s squad as they have been excellent in the season even though Kotoko are struggling at the moment.
