A stunning hat-trick from 16-year-old English-born Ghanaian forward, Ryan McAidoo propelled Manchester City’s Under-19s to a commanding 6-1 victory over Feyenoord, edging the young Blues closer to UEFA Youth League knockout stage qualification.
City struck early at the Joie Stadium, with Reigan Heskey tapping in his 14th goal of the season from close range after excellent link-up play. Farid Alfa-Ruprecht doubled the lead in the 37th minute with a brilliant first-time volley at the back post.
Despite Feyenoord’s Kelvin Neijenhuis converting a penalty early in the second half, the Blues dominated the remainder of the match with a late flurry of goals.
McAidoo, introduced as a substitute, made an instant impact with two quickfire goals just over a minute apart. His first came after a silky assist from Oboavwoduo, while his second capitalized on a high press that forced an error from the Feyenoord goalkeeper.
Heskey added his second of the game with a deflected effort, and McAidoo completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot after Charlie Gray was fouled in the box.
