Oxford United have secured the services of English-born Ghanaian midfielder Alex Matos on loan from Chelsea for the remainder of the season.
The 20-year-old talent arrives with experience at both Premier League and Championship levels, further enhancing the U’s midfield options as they push for a strong finish to their campaign.
Matos began his football journey at Norwich City before joining Chelsea in July 2023. At Stamford Bridge, he gained valuable experience, featuring in the Premier League and FA Cup.
He further honed his skills during a successful loan stint with Huddersfield Town last season, where he made 19 league appearances.
Recently capped by England’s Under-20 side, Matos is recognized as one of the most promising young midfielders in his position.
