Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is reportedly weighing a move away from the club this summer as contract negotiations stall, with interest growing from clubs outside the Premier League.
The 20-year-old, who has been with United since the age of six, has yet to agree to a new deal, with his current contract set to expire in two years. Despite establishing himself in the first team, Mainoo remains one of the squad’s lower earners, taking home £20,000 per week. Talks over improved wages have not progressed, prompting the young midfielder to explore opportunities abroad.
Born in Stockport to Ghanaian parents, Mainoo has endured injury struggles this season and is currently recovering from a setback that could rule him out for the rest of the campaign. Manchester United reportedly value him at around £70 million and may consider a sale to strengthen their financial position.
Mainoo has made 60 first-team appearances and earned 10 caps for England, showing significant development under manager Ruben Amorim. However, with United facing financial constraints and implementing cost-cutting measures, the club’s decision regarding his future remains uncertain.
