Former Asante Kotoko striker Eric Bekoe has called for the inclusion of Asamoah Gyan in the Black Stars technical team to serve as strikers’ coach.
Gyan is currently undergoing his coaching course and will look to go into management when he officially announces his retirement from professional football.
According to Bekoe, the Black Stars have struggled with strikers in recent times and it is high time the services of the country’s all-time top scorer is deployed.
“We need to appoint Asamoah Gyan as Black Stars Strikers’ coach to help solve our attacking problems. He has attained a coaching licence, and we need to make good use of him while he’s alive now,” he told Angel TV.
Bekoe’s comments come after Ghana’s doubleheader against Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
