Former Asante Kotoko defender Evans Owusu has weighed in on the much-anticipated Super Clash between Ghanaian football giants Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, set for Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Speaking to SportsBoom, Owusu highlighted the unique significance of the fixture, describing it as a dream for every player.
“Hearts of Oak vs. Asante Kotoko is a big game any day. It’s a match every player dreams of playing because every football-loving fan has their attention on it. Beyond the three points, it determines who earns the bragging rights,” Owusu said.
The former Kotoko star also emphasized the importance of mental and physical preparation for players ahead of this high-stakes encounter.
“As a player, you have to be physically and mentally ready for the game. Football is full of uncertainties, and anything can happen. The Super Clash is not determined by the current form of both teams,” he added.
Asante Kotoko heads into the game sitting seventh on the league table with 18 points, while rivals Hearts of Oak are just one point ahead in sixth place. The match promises to be a fiercely contested battle, with bragging rights and crucial points at stake.
