Former Ghanaian goalkeeper Fatawu Dauda has displayed his tactical nous on Ghana’s 94th-minute winner against Madagascar in the 1-0 win at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers opener.

The 38-year-old former Ashanti Gold and Enyimba goalkeeper on his X wall wrote, “A good cross and a good finish in the Ghana vs Madagascar World Cup qualifier.

“But from the goalkeeping perspective, Gk’s hands weren’t at the ready position, he would have had a 90% chance of saving the ball”, continued the formal Black Stars goalkeeper.

“Good decision from Gk, by staying on the goal line to defend the goal. But the hands wasn’t ready….”, Fatawu said.

He has a great understanding of the game as he perfectly analysed the keeper’s decision on Gideon Mensah’s assist which was connected perfectly by Inaki Williams.

Ghana lost its second game 1-0 in Moroni against Comoros which has placed Ghana third in the Group with Comoros surprisingly leading the table with 6 points.

Mali who hosts Ghana in Bamako on Matchday 3 is lying in the second position with 4 points.
