Former Black Stars midfielder Derek Boateng has revealed that he tells young players to do everything to play for the Black Stars.
He is currently a part of the Right to Dream Academy, where 14 alumni have played for the various national teams.
One of them is Mohammed Kudus who dazzled at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
“I always advise some of the young players … that they have to do everything they can so that they can play for the Black Stars (Ghana’s national team),” Boateng told CNN.
“Singing the national anthem in front of the fans is so amazing. It’s something that I take very seriously, nobody can take it away from you.”
Boateng played for the Black Stars in the 2006 and 2010 World Cups.
