Ex-Pakistani hockey skipper Ghazanfar joins Ghana team as head coach

Former Pakistani hockey team skipper Ali Ghazanfar has been appointed as the new head coach of the Ghana national hockey team.

Ghanzanfar who is a legend in the sport in his native country will lead both the Ghana men and women hockey team at the impending 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

He arrived in Ghana on Monday and he has already met the management of the Ghana national hockey team as well as some of the players.

“I will try my best to improve the structure and performance of both teams in commonwealth games”, Ghanzafar indicated.

Ghana’s men team is currently ranked 36th in the world according to FIH  whereas the women are in 30th position.
