English-born Ghanaian central midfielder Kobie Mainoo, has signed his first professional contract with Manchester United, new.sportsworldghana.com can report exclusively.

When he made his under-18s debut last year at just 16, Kobbie Mainoo set himself out as a player Manchester United fans should keep track of.

A year on he has already made the step up to under-23 level.

Mainoo made his debut for Manchester United’s under-23s against Tottenham.

The 17-year-old came off the bench for the final six minutes of United’s narrow 1-0 loss to Tottenham.

This season Mainoo has been a standout performer in central midfield for the under-18s, with his quick feet and incisive passing helping him to impress.

Mainoo has appeared in 31 games for Manchester United U-18 this season, scoring four goals and assisting on two others.

He was instrumental in Manchester United winning the FA Youth Cup, scoring twice on their way to the final.

If he continues to show his talent and qualities as he did in the FA Youth Cup final, the young midfielder has the potential to become a great player in the future.

The Ghanaian youngster is expected to the footsteps of Mason Greenwood, Jesse Lingard, and other players of Manchester United.

Mainoo is an England youth international as he plays for the U-17 team.
