Sportsworldghana.com can confirm that Hearts of Oak are leading the race to sign Nations FC defender Michael Awuah Mensah, with a proposal made and accepted by the Abrakese-based side.
According to Oyerepa FM journalist, Obed Acheampong, the Phobians are at the front of the queue to sign the talented centre-back, who is expected to leave his current club this summer.
Rivals Asante Kotoko are also in the running, but it appears that Hearts of Oak have made the initial breakthrough in negotiations.
The report states that both clubs have agreed on a fee for Awuah Mensah’s sale, although personal terms with Hearts of Oak are yet to be finalized.
The 23-year-old defender made 28 appearances for Nations FC in the Ghana Premier League last season and is now being pursued by two of Ghana’s top clubs.
