Hertha Berlin forward Keven-Prince Boateng, has emerged as transfer target for Major League Soccer teams Inter Miami and LA Galaxy, sportsworldghana.com can exclusively confirm.
Boateng in July, 2021 signed a one-year contract with Hertha, where he made his professional debut back in 2005.
The American clubs, our outfit understands, have tabled an audacious bid to the attacking sensation for his signature despite his age and are ready to make him the highest earner should he sign for any of the two clubs after the expiration of his Hertha Berlin contract.
After turning out for Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, Portsmouth, Genoa, AC Milan, Schalke, Las Palmas, Eintracht Frankfurt, Sassuolo, Barcelona, Fiorentina, Besiktas and Monza, the 2010 World Cup star returned to the German capital to reunite with his boyhood club.
“I still can’t believe it, it’s a dream come true,” Boateng told German daily Bild of his return to Hertha.
“We started discussions about 18 months ago, then Fredi [Bobic] came in [as managing director for sport]. I told him: ‘I only have one dream – I want to pull on the Hertha shirt at the Olympiastadion one more time.’ Fredi said: ‘Let’s do everything to make that dream a reality’.
“I don’t know how long it’ll last, but it’ll be enough for me. It’s definitely my last club.”
The 35-year old attacker has managed to feature in 14 league games this season for Hertha Berlin without an goal to his name.
Meanwhile, Boateng confirmed he will end his playing career at Hertha Berlin after rejoining his boyhood club ahead of the 2021/22 Bundesliga campaign.
It is, however, unclear whether the former Ghana international would call it a quit or would be convinced with the juicy offer to play at least one more year.
