Nations FC have taken over as the leaders of the Division One Zone Two League table, following a successful protest against Skyy FC, Sportsworldghana.com can exclusively report.
Skyy, who were previously in first place, were penalized six points for playing an unqualified player named Victor Hagan/Victor Mends during their Division One Zone Two Gameweek 18 match against Nations FC at the St. Martins Anglican School Park in Daboase. The match ended in Skyy’s favour with a score of 3-0.
Nations FC filed a protest against Skyy for fielding the unqualified player, arguing that the player had double registration and lacked the necessary certification for a change in name.
Additionally, the player was accused of using different FIFA ID numbers, rendering him ineligible under Article 33 of the Ghana Football Association Division One League Regulations.
Sportsworldghana can confirm that Nations FC’s protest was successful, resulting in them being awarded three points and three goals, while Skyy suffered a six-point deduction.
This latest development would place Nations FC at the top of the Zone Two League table with 54 points, while Skyy would drop to second place with 50 points.
